Design and Display
The F571GD has a robust body construction made of plastic but doesn’t feel cheap at all. Considering the specs and the price point, there is no harm in providing a plastic build on a laptop. It comes with Asus’ all new ergonomic hinge lift which lifts the laptop by 2 degree for better typing experience and also works for better air flow beneath. Typing on the keyboard is quite awesome and has no such flex on hard typing, due to the provided metal frame inside the keyboard and display. The screen has some minor flex but that’s totally fine. The trackpad is quite responsive and also gets a fingerprint scanner placed on it. It has rear vents for heat dissipation from dual cooling fans for CPU and GPU each which is a cherry on the top.
Coming to the display, it has got a 1080p panel with a resolution of 1920×1080 and refresh rate of 60Hz. Viewing angles are great and colors are almost accurate. The display is also anti-glare meaning you can use you laptop without getting reflection from and light source around you. Brightness levels are also good and has 141 PPI.
Performance
It comes with Intel Core i5 8300-H (8th gen) quad core processor which is a Coffee lake processor based on architecture of 14ncity Telcomnology resulting in some good performance while multitasking and gaming. It has proper 4 cores and 8 threads for handling tasks with ease. The base speed is 2.3 Ghz with boost speed of 4.0 Ghz. You can easily run high end softwares with ease on it. You get 8GB DDR4 RAM which is more than sufficient for most of the users. It comes with 8MB smart Intel cache. Alongside you get SSD which combining with the power of i5 results in quick booting and faster software loadings. In the GPU you get Nvidia GTX 1050 4GB DDR4 graphical memory resulting in great gaming performance and running software extensive softwares easily and smoothly. You can expect some top notch performance on this laptop from multitasking to gaming. Suitable for those who want a sleek & lightweight laptop with some powerful spec, as the F571GD is a blend of an ultrabook and a gaming laptop.
Gaming
For gaming side it comes with Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GPU as said, which can easily play AAA titles with smooth frame rates. GTX 1050 provides desktop level performance for games as well as running graphic extensive softwares like Android Studio, Autocad, Photoshop, etc. It has dual cooling fans as said earlier, which throws out heat through the given rear vent which is a great add-on to this Laptop. However when playing games we faced that the rear vent throws heat directly to the screen through the vent which makes the lower end of the screen, a bit hot but not a matter to worry infact, since it has been designed for gaming and won’t harm your screen anyway.
Battery & Storage
The F571GD packs in a 3-cell lithium ion battery which is quite capable for running the laptop for 5-6 hours on moderate usage. On heavy usage and gaming you can get maximum 2hrs of backup which is quite common in laptops in this budget range. But you can easily charge up your laptop with the 120-watt fast charger provided in the box, which can quickly charge up the device from 0-50% in just 30 minutes and a full charge in around 1 hour and 30 minutes, which is a good offering considering the price point.
On the storage side, it comes packed with 512GB PCIe SSD which makes the laptop even faster. However you get a choice to expand the storage with a 2.5 inch SATA slot inside.
